What is the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act?
RICO laws are covered under the Racketeer Influenced and
Corrupt Organizations Act. They were designed to make the penalties for crimes
committed in conjunction with a criminal organization more severe and cover any
two out of a list of 35 federal and state crimes. Racketeering charges require establishment of the existence of a criminal organization
